Meet our Hasbro Community Action Heroes

While everyone was certainly buzzing about the exciting new toys, games and entertainment at our New York Toy Fair showroom, there was also a group of ten young changemakers who were creating their own buzz as part of our BE FEARLESS BE KIND initiative. Our 10 newest Hasbro Community Action Heroes came together in New York to learn how to expand the impact of their already outstanding work, and inspire other youth BE FEARLESS BE KIND. Read more about our heroes here.

Throughout their time together, the kids hosted a joint service project packing toiletry packs for the homeless that was featured by FamilyFun Magazine and worked with spoken-word poet and digital storyteller Max Stossel to use their voice to create a pledge inspiring other kids to stand up, include everyone and take action when they see a problem.

Their experience culminated on Tuesday in our showroom theater in front their parents, guests and a group of influential parenting bloggers where they were recognized on stage for their outstanding work. The morning presentation also featured internationally-recognized educator, speaker and best-selling author, Dr. Michele Borba, who spoke to the audience about activating empathy and kindness in kids. “Let's focus on being WE thinkers...not ME thinkers," she shared.

The program closed with all 10 of the kids on stage reciting the pledge they created, before touring our showroom. Fittingly, their time in New York ended with their name in lights. Thanks to our friends at NASDAQ, photos of all of our heroes were displayed on the NASDAQ board in the middle of Times Square to the screaming delight of the kids.
